Completion of the ECOSINT Research Project

With the final consortium meeting, the ECOSINT (Energy Community System Integration) research project has entered its final phase. The meeting focused on the final reports regarding the impact of revised tariffs on price elasticity, as well as the presentation of the final report. In addition to best practice approaches, concrete recommendations for action were developed to support the sustainable integration of energy communities into the energy system.

The ECOSINT project focused on the smart and efficient integration of Local Energy Communities (LECs) into the overall system, aiming to ensure seamless cooperation between the internal goals of the LECs and the requirements of the national and European energy systems. Special attention was paid not only to overcoming technical and regulatory challenges but also to laying the groundwork for future developments in this area.

A special thanks goes to all the project partners who contributed significantly to the success of ECOSINT:

  • Energie-Control Austria (E-Control)
  • Energy Institute at Johannes Kepler University Linz
  • Netz Oberösterreich GmbH
  • Salzburg Netz GmbH
  • Ökostrombörse Salzburg
  • Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft mbH
  • AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH
  • Siemens AG Österreich

The project’s results lay the foundation for the digital, efficient, and secure integration of energy communities into the energy system of the future. Together with our partners, we are proud to make this important contribution to the energy transition and climate protection.

„The collaboration of all project partners was excellent, and we are proud of the results achieved,“ said project manager Günther Eibl.
